Groundbreaking for production hall 4
More space for more projects. The steady growth at Schmidt continues: in the sixth year after the founding of the site, the building of Hall 4 marks another expansion. This spring, a total of 10,000 m² of production space will be available in Brandenburg.
Renaming to Schmidt Automotive GmbH
After the company Schmidt has become a part of the MAT Foundry Group Europe, now the name is officially changed to Schmidt Automotive GmbH.
Start-up in Auburn
In September last year, has begun the construction work at the Technology Park in Auburn. Half a year later the first machines have already been delivered and put into service.
Schmidt Maschinenbau GmbH presents itself with the plant in Auburn international increased requirements and is therefore able to supply customers quickly and directly in the United States on site.
Groundbreaking in Auburn, Alabama USA
The starting signal was given. The bulldozers are ready to roll. Schmidt has acquired a site in Auburn, Alabama. In the local Technology Park West, the first production site in North America will be built in the next few months.
The latest results of the engine and transmission development from around the world were presented at the engineexpo 2015. Herzog Intertec and Schmidt Maschinenbau were represented with a joint stand. Our live presented 4 - cylinder engine model with mass balancing module attracted wide interest.
Here we had a broad public to introduce the services and expertise of both companies, and to hold interesting talks.
Schmidt establishes production plant in the U.S.
The decision is made. Under the name of Schmidt Automotive USA LP there will be a production plant in North America of Schmidt. At the future production site in Auburn, Alabama the construction of a brand new factory building with office complex is already launched. Start of production is planned for February 2016.

The long-term partnership and investment in capacity expansion was awarded in Stuttgart on 26 February at Daimler Supplier Award 2014.

Inhouse gear wheel production is established
“Higher added-value products and an increase of the vertical range of manufacture, “ this is the motivation for establishing the new inhouse gear wheel production according to managing director Herbert Schmidt.
Process planning is completed and the first machines have already been installed. The start of production is scheduled in spring 2015.
Production hall #3 in Eberswalde is ready to move into
A year after the first expansion there is already the second. Thus, the production area in Eberswalde has grown to a total of 7,000 m². This is very impressive, as we were standing here on the literally greenfield just five years ago.
Finally, our newly designed website is online. With the modern design and the refreshing presentation we want to present ourselves to existing and prospective business partners and provide them an interesting overview to our company.
Production hall #2 in Eberswalde is ready to move into
Just four years after the establishment of the new plant in Brandenburg, the production area was expanded to 2,000 m² on 4,700 m². " The high demand of our customers especially in the field of complex automotive assemblies is of course very pleasant for us. We are expanding our capacity with various manufacturing facilities such as machining centers, specially designed assembly lines and intelligent automation technology. This strategic investment strengthens our position as an innovative and reliable automotive supplier once more, "says the CEO Herbert Schmidt.
